That album remains close to my heart, not only because it was my first but because of the countless memories this magical place holds for me. And so it seems, after six other albums of place visited, remembrances rekindled and a wide diversity of musical influences, I have returned to those timeless islands and an acoustic format for inspiration. Herein lies a musical collection that does not make any attempt to copy the original work but instead to complete the cyrcle in a way that is at once familiar but also entirely of its own "being". This time I have a visitor with me in my travels, someone who knows my musical side better than anyone else. The addition of Sandin on fretless bass took the music in a completely new direction. The sessions for these songs were very spontaneous and, for me, were some of the most magical moments I have ever shared in the studio. The final addition of ambient sounds and Randy's cameo vocals only seemed to enhance the performances. To those listeners who have been touched with SAN JUAN SUITE, I hope this collection puts new songs to old and treasured memories.
